Daniel Wass is officially a Valencia CF player.

The (now) former Celta de Vigo midfielder had been a transfer target for Los Che ever since the Liga season ended and now the deal has finally been completed. In fact, Wass will become the second-ever Denmark player to play for the Mestalla outfit in club’s history. The first one was Frank Arnessen back in the 1981-82 season.

Wass has a lot of experience despite the fact he is only 29 years old, as he registers more than 400 top-flight games throughout his career. After signing the deal, the holding midfielder simply said he was “quite happy to sign with Valencia, a big club with a rich history. I’m thrilled”.

Wass deal will run until June 2022, so he will defend the Mestalla outfit during the next four years. He will battle for playing time in central midfield alongside the likes of Geoffrey Kondogbia, Dani Parejo and Carlos Soler, among others, enhancing Valencia’s CM depth as one of the strengths of the side.

The Denmark international spent the last three years of his career with Celta and played in the UEFA Europa League – reaching the semifinals with Celta – but now he will have the chance to participate in the UEFA Champions League for the first time in his career.
