Up until this Friday, it was believed Real Madrid stood alone at top of the race for signing Monaco‘s highly-touted prospect Kylian Mbappe. However, PSG do not want to miss on the French international, and are reportedly lining up a historic bid to sign the 18-year-old during the upcoming transfer window.
According to a report from ESPN, PSG want to get back to the top of Ligue 1 after failing to win the title last season, and the management believes Mbappe is the missing piece of the puzzle. So they are set to offer Monaco an incredible €135 million offer. This sum would transform Mbappe into the highest transfer ever, and by a large margin.
PSG sporting director Antero Henrique is convinced Mbappe is the best fit for PSG, so he placed the youngster at the top of the transfer targets. He’s currently above players such as Alexis Sanchez, Jean-Michael Seri, and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, for whom PSG was set to offer €70 million before they backed off.
It is believed that both Real Madrid and Arsenal have already made offers to sign Mbappe. But none of those efforts comes even close to what PSG is willing to pay. Will money make the difference in this deal?
We will have to wait and see, but one thing is certain: PSG will do everything they can to sign the hottest commodity in the transfer market this summer.
