Villarreal has reportedly come to an agreement with Milan for the transfer of Colombian striker Carlos Bacca, according to a report from Marca. The transfer fee is believed to be set at €18 million.
Bacca, who was one of Sevilla’s top goal scorers for two seasons, will look to continue his goal-scoring spell in Spain this season with the Yellow Submarine.
With the departure of striker Roberto Soldado to Fenerbahçe, Villarreal side is looking for another goal scorer of the same caliber. Should they land Bacca, the Spanish side will more than likely be one of the more potent attacks in La Liga.
Reports say that the 30-year-old Colombian has traveled to Villarreal to complete his medical and to get acquainted with manager Fran Escribá.
Since his 28-goal season at Club Brugge, the Colombian striker has caught the eye of many clubs and it led to his transfer to Sevilla in 2013. In his two seasons there, Bacca scored 49 total goals in 108 appearances.
His outstanding form caught the eye of Italian giants, AC Milan, and in 2015 he departed Seville for I Rossoneri. In his first season, Bacca scored an impressive 20 goals in all competitions in which he appeared in 43 matches for Milan.
The following season was not as fruitful as his first with Bacca only managing to find the back of the net 14 times in 33 appearances.
